Breaking News ! There has been a drop in confirmed coronavirus cases in Yorkshire for the third consecutive day, the latest statistics show. Only three out of 20 local authorities saw infection rates rise in the week up to November 16. These were Craven, Selby and Ryedale in North Yorkshire. After recording 1,861 new cases of Covid from the previous day, there were 1,529 recorded in the past 24 hours. The biggest increase in cases was seen in Leeds, with 263, followed by Bradford, which recorded 208. Kirklees, which has the highest infection rate in West Yorkshire and the sixth-highest in England, recorded a further 148 cases. There have also been another 222 deaths across the country recorded in the past day. 1,529 more positive Covid cases There have been a further 1,529 cases of coronavirus confirmed by across Yorkshire in the past day. Leeds saw the most cases for the fifth consecutive day, whilst Bradford, Kirklees, Sheffield, Barnsley, Wakefield, East Yorkshire and Hull recorded over 100 cases. York was the only area to record fewer than 50 cases. The highest increase was recorded by The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust with six deaths, whilst three hospitals recorded five deaths. A further 222 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 38,334. Boris Johnson is set to hold a press conference tomorrow in which he is expected to confirm that the national lockdown will end on December 2 Patients were aged between 30 and 99 years old. All except five (aged 30 to 81 years old) had known underlying health conditions. Date of death ranges from 27 October to 21 November 2020 with the majority being on or after 18 November. Their families have been informed.
