Breaking News ! Q: From the outside looking in, QPR have little to play for this season. Is that about right? DM: Well at one stage they were playing for Championship survival after a terrible run. Since the turn of the year though, they've been much better and at one point even seemed to have an outside shot at the play-offs. But generally a mid-table finish has seemed likely from the start. Q: How have they performed in the main this season? DM: I think they've done very well indeed considering that they lost an outstanding player in Ebere Eze as well as Jordan Hugill. . Q: What was the realistic aim for this campaign and is there disappointment at how it seems to have petered out? DM: I think a top-half finish was the aim and they're currently on course to do that. It's been a long time since QPR had reason to look on the bright side but I think rather than disappointment at their season petering out, it's more of a case of optimism that they might be able to do something next year. DM: They've been playing with a 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 formation and the obvious danger man is Charlie Austin, who has made a huge difference since returning to QPR. His goalscoring record speaks for itself - six already - and he's had a big impact off, as well as on the pitch. Rangers were really struggling before he came in but he's given the place a lift and the team a cutting edge up front which simply wasn't there before. It's also taken the pressure off Lyndon Dykes, who has had a tough first season at the club since being signed from Livingston. Q: Score prediction? DM: I'll go for a 1-1 draw.
