Breaking News ! When it comes to Carlos Corberan's first selection for Huddersfield Town next season, there are a number of young players who might make the grade. The Spanish head coach has made it clear when the players return for pre-season training on August 10 it will be an intense but open process. Everything is to play for as he takes a first look at the talent at his disposal, with the 37-year-old boss already handed final say on who leaves the club and who comes in as summer transfer window signings. Town have masses of experience in one particular department, with Christopher Schindler, Richard Stearman and the fit-again Tommy Elphick all vying for places in central defence. Their ages all start with a '3', however, so don't be surprised if a younger, double-barreled contender swoops onto that teamsheet for the opening game in September. And this is why Town fans (and Corberan!) should take note of Rarmani Edmonds-Green. He is just 21 years of age and his experience in blue and white stripes doesn't yet amount to much. Those league appearances came after a loan at Bromley in the National League (nine games) and before Swindon boss Richie Wellens came knocking with the offer of a loan until the end of the season. Edmonds-Green made his Swindon debut in a defeat at Newport County on January 18 - before things took a significant turn for the better. After it was announced Edmonds-Green had picked up the February player of the month award, plenty of Swindon fans praised the youngster on social media. Dean McMakin wrote: "Getting better and better each week." Another, Gary Bowen, said: "Calm and collected on the ball. Great addition to the team." Huddersfield Town latest Vote for your Town Player of the Season "Robust and detailed" transfer plan Where Corberan fits into academy changes Big Terriers fan survey - have your say Another, Dan Adams, is hopeful of the youngster being allowed to return to Wiltshire next season: "Kid's got what it takes and gonna have a big future.

." The chances of that appear slim, with Town earmarking him for a potential Championship breakthrough despite the presence of the thirty-somethings. The Terriers' hierarchy recognise Edmonds-Green is very mobile and physically robust within his muscular 6ft 1in frame. Not only is he strong in the tackle and fearless in the air, but he is eye-catchingly comfortable on the ball and is happy to step out of defence and make plays in the midfield. He has a turn of foot, too, meaning he rarely gets beaten in a one-on-one race and, throughout his time in the National League and League Two, he learned how to deal with the menace of some big-unit strikers - something which wouldn't have happened at Academy and Elite Development level. Edmonds-Green could well have a similar impact on Town next season as Lewis O'Brien has had in the campaign just finished. While 2019-20 finished early in League Two and Edmonds-Green could not be considered for Town's closing nine matches in the second tier, he finished the season with a title medal and some material inspiration for the next stage of his career. Swindon chief Richie Wellens said of the defender during his loan: "Since Rarmani has come into the club, he’s been outstanding. "He's a good athlete - a modern-day defender, aggressive. "He came in and settled in really quickly, he’s a fantastic kid and he has a lot of good attributes. "He's got good pace for a centre back, he's 6ft 1in but he can leap. He reads the game very well for a young boy and his passing out from the back is very good as well." Enough said. Over to you Carlos.
