Breaking News ! It is a harrowing story made up of deceit and lies. Simone Hancock, 55, was horrifically stabbed 12 times in her head and back after an argument about drugs with Kerry Taylor on Saturday, July 4, last year. But instead of rushing to her friend's aid inside the flat in Ravenscroft Place in Sheffield, the cruel 41-year-old ran outside, covered in blood and tried to claim she had been raped. Simone was begging for help as she suffered from "torrential bleeding" but Taylor ran from the scene and made up an allegation to distract people from the cold killing she had just committed. The life of a mother, grandmother, sister and daughter she had just taken. As she played the victim of a made-up attack, much-loved Simone was dying from the horrific wounds Taylor had inflicted. Taylor was found by police hiding behind a tree nearby with an injury to her finger. And in a sick twist, Taylor claimed that she had no recollection of the events until she woke up in a police cell. The 55-year-old victim has been named as Simone Hancock She denied the murder, committing Simone's heartbroken family to the ordeal of a trial at Sheffield Crown Court, where she told a catalogue of lies in a desperate bid to cover up what she had done. But the jury could see right through her far fetched stories. Prosecutor Robert Woodcock said: “The story you decided to come up with was poor Kerry Taylor had been raped and was running away. “I’m suggesting that is a story you designed as you ran away in a bid to draw sympathy and attention from what you had really done.” Mr Woodcock added that to make the story more believable, she began to remove items of clothing including her bra. He said: “When you ran away, you knew what you had done Kerry.” Ms Taylor replied multiple times: “I just can’t remember.

. Ms Taylor even said that she was in "fear of her life" as Simone had armed herself with a knife. Another pitiful lie. This was despite Simone having 12 stab wounds on her body and being left to die in her flat. The judge said he did not accept that the victim came at Taylor with a knife before the stabbing as she had alleged and said he did not know what triggered it. Her defence team argued otherwise but today, Friday, a jury found her unanimously guilty of Simone's murder after just three hours and 18 minutes of deliberations. Judge Peter Kelson QC sentenced her to life in prison, of which she must serve a minimum term of 18 years. Family's anguish In a statement released after the conclusion of the trail Simone's family said: "The tragic and senseless murder of Simone, our daughter, mum, grandma, sister and auntie has had a devastating impact on us all as a family. " Our Mum will never recover from the loss of her beloved daughter and her death has had a massive impact on her already deteriorating health. "No one deserves to be taken in this way and we feel we could have accepted it a little better if she had not been so cruelly taken from us at such a young age. "No parent should have to plan their child’s funeral following their murder. “As a family, we would like to thank South Yorkshire Police for the professionalism and caring way in which they handled the case and special thanks to Claire Mann the police liaison officer. “Now the trial is over, and sentence has been passed, we as a family would like to request our privacy as we try to move forward and come to terms with our loss. “Rest in eternal peace Simone, we love you x”
