Breaking News ! The people have spoken. Yorkshire Live readers have voted for their Sheffield Wednesday player of the year for the 2019/20 season. Wednesdayites were given four options to choose from via our Player of the Year poll last week. Dominic Iorfa, Jacob Murphy, Steven Fletcher and Morgan Fox made up the shortlist. He also scooped the club's player of the year last week. After a slow start to his Wednesday career, Murphy blossomed in the second half of the campaign. The Newcastle United loanee notched seven of his nine goals in 2020, starring as a right wing back and a wide man. As for Fletcher, he led the line superbly and finished as top-scorer with 13 goals. Like left-back Fox, Fletcher left the Owls at the end of June after declining short-term contract extensions.
. Iorfa, switched from right-back to centre-half last August, picked up over 50 per cent of the vote. Murphy was the second most popular in the voting with 37.3 per cent of the votes while Fletcher and Fox finished third and fourth respectively. Here are the full results of the vote.
