Breaking News ! A mum of six has defied all the medics to walk again after being left paralysed by two strokes. And Riona Kelly, 40, hasn't let her heartbreaking tale hold her back - now using social media to help others through lockdown. Enduring a spinal stroke first at 34, and a second stroke three years later, Riona has had to learn to walk twice with the help of now-husband Keith Mason. Having the first stoke in 2015, medics had to revive her four times after her heart stopped and she was put into a coma. Waking in Pinderfields Hospital, in Wakefield, she was told she had suffered a rare combination of spinal stroke and severe spinal concussion. Riona first met Keith as her PT when he was helping her learn to walk. Keith became Riona's closest ally - and eventually her husband. The mum was initially told she'd never walk again as she was paralysed from the neck down - but Riona has defied all expectations twice. Battling through three gruelling years after the first stroke, Riona learnt to walk again and beat the odds to do it once more, after she suffered a second stroke. Now, the impressive former teacher wants to share her message of hope and inspire others who are having 'bad days.' Riona said: "I wanted to share my story, not to be in the public eye or famous, but to let others know that if they're having a rough time, or a bad day then it's always going to be ok. 'It's going to get better. 'I never incorporated what happened to me in my game plan for life.

. 'I might have thought my life was over, but if it hadn't happened, I wouldn't have met Keith or had the love I have now. 'During lockdown, I realised it would be tough for a lot of people. 'Lots of people struggle, and I wanted my story to help others and help them see, there is light at the end of the tunnel.' Riona added: 'We created a Tik Tok and shared the videos of my journey - from when I was in hospital to when I learnt to walk again. 'We've put all the highs and lows in there because I want people to know I still have my bad days. 'But that's ok. 'When Keith and I share our videos, we have over five million views every time and now, I've become a therapist for free. 'People message me about issues they have in their own lives, wondering how to get through dark days, and I talk them through it. 'Although it's not the same as what happened to me, struggling is relatable for everyone. 'And if I can help one person overcome it, then it's brilliant.
