Breaking News ! It will be eyes to the skies in Yorkshire today as the 'Thank U NHS' Spitfire flies over six of the county's hospitals. The iconic World War Two aircraft will be passing over hospitals in Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, York and Northallerton this morning. The former reconnaissance plane will be passing over Yorkshire and the North East to thank, once again, NHS staff for their efforts throughout the coronavirus pandemic. The flypast has been organised by the Aircraft Restoration Company to raise cash for the health service. The Spitfire brought out thousands of spectators and NHS staff when it flew over Bradford Royal Infirmary, Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on August 30.
