Breaking News ! Some parts of Yorkshire have seen a surge in new cases of coronavirus, just days away from the reopening of non-essential retail and hospitality. Shops, pubs and restaurants across the country are getting ready to welcome customers back through the door from Monday, with hospitality venues permitted to open if they can seat customers outside. But 17 postcode areas in Yorkshire have recently seen a worrying surge in new cases, with rates much higher than the national average for England. Areas in Bradford, Leeds, Kirklees, Wakefield, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield have all seen a spike in new cases in the week to April 3. This comes as Brits under the age of 30 are being encouraged to have an alternative vaccine to the AstraZeneca due to the risk of blood clots.
