Breaking News ! New Huddersfield Town arrival Sorba Thomas hopes to emulate Terriers top scorer Josh Koroma after completing a transfer from National League side Boreham Wood. Koroma had hit his stride to rack up 6 goals and two assists in 16 appearances before seeing his season put on pause by a hamstring injury last month that is expected to keep him out until at least March. That good form only came after a first season at Town in which he played only a handful of minutes before being sent out on loan to League One Rotherham United to aid his own transition from playing National League football with Leyton Orient. It may well be that Thomas also needs a bit of time to get up to speed before he can make a true impact in the Championship, but the forward is certainly not short on confidence, especially as the comparison to Koroma already carried particular resonance for him. Thomas explained to the club’s YouTube channel: “Before he signed here I played against him when he was at Leyton Orient and he’s a talent. “The first-team gaffer at Boreham Wood, Luke Garrard, used to compare me to Josh Koroma, telling me ‘you’re like Josh Koroma, you’ve got the speed, you’ve got the confidence, you’ve got the eye for goal’. “He’s progressed his game massively and I want to follow in his footsteps and become the next Sorba Thomas.” He added of his new teammate: “He’s going to go far in football and I feel like I can learn from him massively as he didn’t just come straight in [to the first team], it was a bit of a process for him, and I felt like for me it’s going to be another process as well. “I’m hard-working, I like to work hard, I like to challenge myself, I like to set goals all the time, and I feel like watching him now he’s progressing, he’s scoring goals, and I’m like…‘that could be me’.

.” Like fellow new arrival Danny Grant, Thomas will need to get used to a full-time training schedule having been used to a part-time regimen. But he said: “I’m up for the challenge. It’s going to be a massive change from non-league to Championship football. These are players that used to be in the Premier League that I’ll be playing up against. “I’ll learn game by game, week by week, and then once I’ve gained a bit of confidence and I’m around the team more then you’ll see my real talents.” Asked where those talents lie both positionally and technically, Thomas said: “I prefer probably the left of the front three because I can come onside on my right foot, which I’ve scored a few goals at Boreham Wood doing – or I can down the line and use my left foot and make assists. “I thrive off assists. I love scoring goals, but I thrive more off setting up my teammates and setting up goals however I can even if that means unselfish runs or getting the ball myself and crossing into box for my teammates. Huddersfield Town latest Sorba Thomas arrives as third signing Town flaw that should be top priority Pritchard linked with Championship move Aarons tipped to make impact “I’d say I’m an entertainer when I’m on the ball. I like to entertain people. I like people to come to a game, watch me, and leave the game feeling ‘wow, he’s good’. “I’m quick, there won’t be many people who will catch me, and that’s one of my strengths. And my one-v-ones, I thrive off running at people. It’s my strength, I like doing it. “The defenders in this league will test me so I’ll have to change my game up at times but I’m up for the challenge.”
