Breaking News ! Doncaster Sheffield Airport will reopen to passengers tomorrow (Wednesday) with the resumption of commercial flights. The airport's main airline Wizz Air said it would be resuming flights to Eastern Europe following further relaxation of measures designed to reduce the spread of coronavirus. During the Covid-19 lockdown, cargo planes, including those carrying perishable goods and personal protective equipment (PPE), had been using the runway at DoncasterSheffield Airport (DSA) while it was closed to passengers. But those catching flights to Riga, Krakow, Vilnius and Bucharest will be the first passengers through DSA's doors since commercial flights were suspended earlier this year. DSA Director of Operations, Dee Thomas, said: “We’re so happy to welcome back Wizz Air passengers to DSA, getting their holiday and travel plans back on track. “Wizz is a valued partner of DSA and we are proud to be one of their UK bases. We celebrated 4m passengers last year and look forward to welcoming many more now that operations have restarted.” Airline Tui, which flies to Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Florida and other destinations from DSA, is also expected to resume passengers flights from the airport next month.
