Breaking News ! UKFast founder Lawrence Jones has denied rape and sexual assault during a crown court hearing. Mr Jones, 53, is accused of a single count of rape and four counts of sexual assault. The allegations concern two women. Former UKFast chief executive Mr Jones pleaded not guilty to all five charges during a hearing at Manchester Crown Court hearing this afternoon (February 23). A trial date has been set for February 7, 2022. During a short hearing Mr Jones, of Brooks Drive, Hale Barns, appeared in the dock wearing a dark suit, red tie and face mask. All five counts were read out to Mr Jones, who answered “not guilty” to each charge. Mr Jones is accused of raping a woman in 2010. He is also accused of intentionally touching a female on her thighs when she did not consent to the touching on a date in 2013. The other sexual assault charges relate to the second female. He is alleged to have intentionally touched the female in an intimate area between March and October in 2010. Mr Jones is also alleged to have intentionally touched the female in an intimate area between November 2010 and January 2012. Mr Jones first appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court last month when he pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charges. His case was sent to the crown court as the rape charge can only be dealt with at the higher court.

He said: "Approximately eighteen months ago, I contacted the police and was interviewed voluntarily because I became aware of rumours circulating about me that although false were extremely damaging. "I have fully co-operated with the police throughout, and am determined to ensure that my name is cleared. "In the circumstances, at this time it would not be appropriate to say any more, other than to state clearly that I did not do what is being alleged."
