The motorway policing team - a joint unit between Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside police forces - spotted the vehicle looking suspicious near Switch Island. When they opened up the van to see what was weighing it down, they found an unexpected cargo - pallets of eggs. Police said the van was taken off the road and the driver issued with a fine.
