Breaking News ! A dispersal order has been issued in a Cambridgeshire town after a violent incident involving at least 30 people happened yesterday. Police Community Support Officers were on patrol in the area of Norfolk Street in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire yesterday evening (September 16) when the "violent disorder" broke out. Police officers attended at about 7.30pm and one man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. Three other men suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment. At the time the area was cordoned off by police while investigations by SOCO officers took place. There was a lot of speculation from local residents across social media as to what was happening in the town last night, with people reporting a heavy emergency service presence. The area around Church Terrace in Wisbech has now been reopened following an Examination of the area by SOCO officers (Image: Policing Fenland) A post went up on Policing Fenland Facebook at around 9pm yesterday informing local residents that police were dealing with an incident in the area along with ambulance crews. They addressed the rumours and clarified the nature of the incident. It said: "Officers and Ambulance are currently dealing with a disorder incident on Church Terrace in Wisbech. "The area has been closed off while an investigation takes place.

. "Two persons have received injuries during this incident, one person has been taken to QEH for treatment, their injuries are not life threatening and no one has died." A further update then came a couple of hours later at midnight which said: "The area around Church Terrace has now been reopened following an Examination of the area by SOCO officers. "If you have any information in relation to the disorder that took place tonight please call 101 and quote incident 477 of 16.09.2020." A dispersal order has since been authorised and encompasses Church Terrace beyond the church towards Norfolk Street, Onyx Court and West Street. The dispersal is in place from 8pm yesterday (September 16) until 10pm tonight (September 17). The order has been granted under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and allows PCSO's and PC's to direct persons to leave the area specified in the order, if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that their behaviour has caused, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public. Failure to comply can result in arrest.
