On Monday afternoon, Caffe Nero creditors will vote on a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) plan aimed to secure better terms from landlords.Zuber and Mohsin Issa, the billionaire brothers behind the group which bought Asda last month, made an offer to the cafe chain’s founder and controlling shareholder, Gerry Ford, over the weekend. However, it is understood that the bid has been rejected and that the CVA vote will move forward as planned.The Issa Brothers’ offer would have paid landlord rent arrears, which they were owed as a result of the pandemic, in full.EG Group, which runs 6,000 petrol forecourts in Europe, the US and Australia, already has brand partnerships with the likes of Starbucks and Burger King.
