Reviewers on the site praise the portion sizes, freshness of the food and the value for money. A review from August 2020 titled “Best local fish and chips by far” reads: “Can’t be this local fish and chip shop, food is amazing service is amazing great staff . Who remember our order even if we don’t go for a while. Definitely recommend.” Parrott’s Fish and Chip Shop Another spot with a 4.5 average score, Parrott’s is very highly thought of. The Midgate chip shop has been family owned and operated since 1986. A takeaway cod, chips and a can will set you back £6.80, whereas a pie, chips and can deal costs £5.05. Among the overwhelmingly positive reviews was this, which said: “I had business contacts from London come to Peterborough for the day, recommended Parrott’s, superb meal, they said nothing in London compares on quality & price. Boundary Fish Bar Found north of Peterborough, up in Deeping St James, Boundary Fish Bar scores an average of four stars on TripAdvisor. Large portions, fresh fish and light batter draw plenty of praise, while my personal favourite review states: “Not been for a number of years but went today on recommendation which was absolutely spot on. “Two pensioners portions for £15.50 small cod, small chips mushy peas, bread and butter and coffee there was ample, cooked to perfection, Very clean restaurant and friendly staff.” What more could you ask for?
Fletton Fish and Chips The high street in Fletton is home to this highly-rated fish and chip outlet. Numerous reviews make reference to the friendliness of the owners, with one reading: “I've been a regular customer for the past 9 years the customer service is excellent and the food is always really good.” Certain people claim that it actually provides the best fish and chips in the city, while other items like the Doner Kebab also receive praise.

Among the few critical reviews was one titled “Had Run Out of Curry Sauce - Wha'!!”. The review tells the tale: “Went in at near on 8.00 o'clock on Monday evening and upon ordering and to our utter dismay we were told that they had run out of curry sauce...….that's a sin that is.” Fortunately, even without the curry sauce, the meal was still good enough for them to award Fletton Fish and Chips four stars. One reviewer said: “fast service and a clean looking fish and chip shop... guess that is all you need to know!
