Breaking News ! A custody officer claims his life was left in tatters after being accused of racism in a fight over parking. Lars Jensen was arrested following a row last year outside his Glasgow home. He was later sacked from his job with GeoAmey before the case came to court. But prosecutors have now dropped racial abuse and assault charges against the 65-year-old, originally from Denmark. I have been frantic with worry. “Now the Crown has simply abandoned the case after nearly a year of hell and left me to pick up the pieces. “And my employers GeoAmey sacked me when I needed them most.” Lars, who has lived with his wife in a quiet street in Glasgow’s southside since 1991, said trouble erupted three years ago when he asked a new neighbour to stop parking in front of his home. In the aftermath, Lars was arrested amid claims he racially abused and assaulted his neighbours.

. GeoAmey colleagues took him to Glasgow Sheriff Court two days later where he pled not guilty. He was released on bail, then suspended from work before being sacked in February. Last month, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) said it was dropping the case after his neighbour refused to hand over footage of the incident. Lars claimed the film would have cleared him of any wrongdoing. She added: “On one occasion he (Lars) asked me about going home in reference to Pakistan. I was born in Scotland. We rowed many times. “The case was taking too long to get to court so I stopped assisting the Crown.” A Crown Office spokesman said: “A decision was taken that the prosecution would not continue.” Lars is now a delivery driver. GeoAmey said it has offered him his job back.
