Breaking News ! More than six months have passed from when Ayrshire recorded its first coronavirus case back in March. Tragically, 294 deaths in the region have been linked to the virus since then. New data released today shows where all of those deaths occurred in the community. National Records of Scotland released fresh statistics giving a breakdown of where deaths involving COVID-19 have taken place across Ayrshire. South Ayrshire has the highest death toll in the region (112) with 483 cases up to today. Ayr South Harbour and Town Centre has recorded the most coronavirus-linked deaths with 21 in that area.

North Ayrshire has seen its biggest death toll in Fullarton where 21 deaths involving COVID-19 have ocurred. While East Ayrshire has recorded the most cases during the pandemic (512), it has reported the lowest amount of deaths (75). Altonhill North and Onthank had the highest death toll in East Ayrshire, with 14 people passing away. The full breakdown below takes into account COVID-19 linked deaths between March 1 and August 31.
