Breaking News ! Bury St Edmunds residents have been grappling with the change in governmental policy towards returning to England after holidaying abroad, with some losing out on their hard-earned money.Lisa Blake, 34, and her partner Jason Sharwood, 40, of Moreton Hall, were due to fly out to Mallorca Parma early last Sunday morning from Luton airport, and they booked in to stay at the airport hotel the night before. When they got there they started receiving texts from friends asking if they had seen the news.Lisa Blake said she was in 'such a state' last Saturday after realising their holiday plans were off.“We got into our hotel room, put on the news and obviously it was like, you can’t fly out. We were flying the next morning. We were like what do we do, do we risk it.”At the time, the Balearics were on a list which meant returning holiday makers would not have had to quarantine upon return, but Lisa and Jason decided to not risk it and cancelled their trip.

.Kirsty is due to get back from Ibiza today with husband Ian and her two kids Sophie, 7 and Joe, 5, and they will have to quarantine for 14 days.Lisa said she plans to fight the decision with the travel company after losing around £700 and said it was ‘ridiculous’ how little notice the government had given in changing its approach to allowing people back into the country. The Goodchild family flew out to Ibiza on July 18 and returned on Friday, having to quarantine for 14 days. Mother Kirsty, 35, said luckily she and her husband Ian, 41, both work jobs allowing them to work remotely, and both their children will be on summer holidays.Despite this, Kirsty said for three or four days it was really ‘mixed messages’ from the government on what the rules were and thinks Ibiza will get a lot quieter over the next few weeks.Holidayers returning from certain destinations will have to quarantine for 14 days upon reentry to England.
