Breaking News ! Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix for a record seventh time after a dramatic finish at Silverstone. The 35-year-old qualified ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas with a stunning lap to clinch pole position on Saturday. Hamilton never looked like relinquishing his lead after keeping ahead of Bottas off the line, with the latter suffering a broken front wing as Max Verstappen took second place late on. But Hamilton - with a 34-second gap to Verstappen - then suffered a tyre blowout on the final lap before limping across the finish line just ahead of the Dutchman. It means Hamilton has now won six of the last seven races at Silverstone after his 87th career race win - just four away from equalling Michael Schumacher's all-time record. Charles Leclerc was the biggest beneficiary of Bottas' misfortune taking the final podium spot with Daniel Ricciardo managing his best race finish for Renault in fourth. Carlos Sainz also suffered a puncture late on and tumbled down the standings, allowing Lando Norris to take home fifth. The early proceedings were disrupted after the safety car was deployed on the opening lap, with Red Bull's Alex Albon colliding with Kevin Magnussen at Club on the final turn. Hamilton kept ahead of Bottas after the restart but the veteran driver was forced to sit for five laps behind Bernd Maylandher in the safety car when Daniil Kvyat spun out in a heavy crash on Lap 13. Bottas' tyre failure produced a domino effect and he lost significant time when coming into the pits, ending up 11th after Pierre Gasly stayed ahead to claim the final championship point. Lap 37Grosjean has already been given one warning for moving under braking and he comes very close to wiping out Ricciardo as the Renault driver gets the job done.Stroll takes advantage to go up to eighth and Grosjean is heading into the pits for some fresh tyres.
Lap 36Hamilton can't shake off Bottas with a lead of just 1.6s and if he makes one mistake, the Finn will be in his wing mirrors.Verstappen is quite a way back, so it's just the Mercedes scrapping for the race win.
WarningThe stewards have shown a black-and-white flag to Grosjean for that move under braking against Sainz. The Frenchman says he left "half the track" for the Spaniard, but that wasn't the issue. Moving the car like that at 200mph could have caused an incident.
