Breaking News ! Clarke Carlisle admitted he couldn’t blame Glen Kamara if he took matters into his own hands to deal with racism accused Ondrej Kudela. And the former PFA Chairman reckons the Rangers star’s fury comes from years of world football authorities failing to deal with the scourge of discrimination. Former Burnley defender Carlisle, an ambassador for anti-racism charity Kick It Out, branded UEFA and other governing bodies “a joke” for their weak handling of racism in football. And that is what he believes leads to reactions like Kamara, who faces a potential five-game ban if found guilty, is alleged to have committed in the aftermath of the ugly Europa League clash against Slavia Prague. Kamara told how Czech international Kudela, banned for tonight’s quarter final tie against Arsenal in London, called him a “f****** monkey” during the last-16 second leg clash at Ibrox. Slavia have defended their man - who could be banned for up to 10 games if found guilty - and accused Kamara of assaulting Kudela in the Ibrox tunnel. Kamara's lawyer Aamer Anwar let rip at UEFA, saying Kudela’s initial one-match ban “does little to instil confidence in UEFA being serious about stamping out racism in football”. And Carlisle, who has also worked for Show Racism The Red Card, believes that is the root of the problem. The 41-year-old told Record Sport: “Glen Kamara has clearly been racially abused. It’s not just handbags at dawn. Clarke Carlisle (Image: Action Images) “It’s a criminal offence and he’s reacted so I can completely understand it.

. “If Glen Kamara, or any other player, had total confidence that they would report the incident and it would be investigated and dealt with efficiently and properly then reactions like the one he is alleged to have made would be far less common because the person who had been abused would know that the perpetrator would get their just deserts. “But you see responses like Glen is supposed to have made because this type of incident continues to happen and has happened since time immemorial and insufficient things have been done. “My general feeling on football’s governing bodies from top to bottom throughout the UK, across Europe and into FIFA is that they are a joke at dealing with something that is a criminal offence in the majority of countries where racial abuse takes place. Rangers FC Rangers reject Zeljeznicar partnership Rangers' under the radar rebuild Edmundson injury blow Tavernier's key role with Patterson “It’s a criminal offence in the UK and it’s not dealt with accordingly. “In and around the general population, I would dare to say that the majority of people find this behaviour abhorrent and unacceptable yet within the echelons of power the actions and reactions don’t match the weight of the incident and people have had enough. “Across the board, the majority of society has had enough with the ineptitude of the governing bodies. “Whereas Glen Kamara’s reaction - if found guilty of what he has been accused of - is a criminal offence and we can be rest assured it will be dealt with quickly according to the rules and regulations of the game.” Glen Kamara has hit out over the alleged comments (Image: SNS Group) Despite his sympathy for what Light Blues star Kamara had to go through and his understanding at the midfielder, Carlisle said he can’t condone the violence he’s alleged of. Carlisle said: “Whether it is Glen Kamara or anyone else, you can’t condone physical reaction and violence. “Of course it can be understood - I can understand it as a black man who has been racially abused - and I can understand the deep-rooted anger that is felt when incidents like this happen. “But that does not condone physical violence. People will compare ‘A’ with ‘B’ and it’s not a comparison. You can understand the response but it doesn’t make the response acceptable.
