Uk news Eddie Howe's Celtic swithering leaves pundits baffled PremierLeague-News.Com
MetiNews.Com - Talks over taking over at Parkhead have hit a number of stumbling blocks.
Breaking News ! TalkSPORT pundits were left baffled by reports that Eddie Howe is swithering over whether or not to take the Celtic job. The former Bournemouth manager has been identified as the top target for next season but the deal has hit a number of stumbling blocks. Howe's representatives insist a deal is a long way from completion and Record Sport understands the negotiations have hit several stumbling blocks over Howe’s hopes to have his own backroom team alongside him, as well as Richard Hughes brought in as director of football. Celtic-daft former striker Alan Brazil admitted he was confused by the development having thought a deal was done. And guests Jamie O'Hara and Gabriel Agbonlahor were also left scratching their heads over the latest developments. (Image: UGC) Speaking on talkSPORT Brazil said: "It looked as if Eddie Howe was set to be the new Celtic boss. "I was told a couple of weeks ago he was up in a Glasgow hotel, he was seen there and all of a sudden his price went in to favourite. "But the Hoops made to sweat for the in-demand manager as the star's camp - I think it's the agent - insist a deal is still way off." Guest O'Hara admitted that he couldn't understand why the English boss would be hesitant over the move. (Image: X03810) He replied: "It's a strange one. "I think it's a massive club for him if I'm honest, it would be a really good move. "Get them playing, winning things, being part of a huge football club. "So he's probably gone up there and maybe he's thought 'it's not for me'?." It's set to be a summer of upheaval at Celtic, with changes both on and off the pitch. And the host speculated that may be a reason behind the delay. Brazil theorised: "What's the plans with (Odsonne) Edouard and people like that? Is he staying? Is he going? How much have I got to spend. "We don't know what's been said in that meeting." O'Hara added: "Do you think as well maybe if his agent's coming out and saying they're not making a decision until the summer, maybe someone's phoned him and said, 'listen, we're making changes, don't commit to Celtic'?."

And former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor believes Crystal Palace may be lining Howe up to replace Roy Hodgson. He speculated: "I think it's Palace. I've got a funny feeling they've got in touch with him. "He'll be thinking he could stay in London, is it more the sort of job he's looking for rather than to move all the way to Scotland? "I think previous managers have said you might not be able to go and get the kind of players you want to bring in, there might not be the money there."

And O'Hara had the final say on the subject as he told Celtic not to get hung up on one candidate. He shrugged: "I don't think Celtic should sweat though. "If he doesn't fancy it, move on."
