MetiNews.Com - He says that medication to reduce his sexual arousal is the only way he can be released
Breaking News ! A former nursery worker from Cambourne is asking to be chemically castrated, because he believes he will never be released otherwise. Aaron Collis has admitted to abusing and taking indecent photos of 22 children, pleading guilty to the abuse of 11 at his trial at Cambridge Crown Court in 2009. The court heard how Collis had used sweets to lure and incite toddlers to engage in sexual activity with him and that his youngest victim had been less than two years old. The judge said at his sentencing that his crimes were so severe, society would struggle to come to terms with what he'd done. Aaron Collis "These were vile and repulsive offences which any rightminded members of society can barely comprehend," Judge Gareth Hawkesworth told him. Collis, who had admitted he "craves" attention on his website, is now saying he needs chemical castration to reduce his sexual arousal, reports The Mirror. Collis believes the treatment, which costs a minimum of £20,000 and lasts between three and five years, is the only way he can be released from the secure hospital where he is held on an indeterminate sentence. In 2012 Collis admitted to a further 12 crimes while he was still in prison, and asked that further offences against 13 more children were looked into. After seven years of jail time, Collis was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and moved to a secure hospital.
And while at the hospital he also set up a website where he went into the crimes he had committed and says what support should be given to convicted paedophiles. His website also claimed he "craved" media attention and that in a sick attempt to get it he told police officers that he was involved in the Madeleine McCann case. In a horrific attempt to get in touch with the McCanns he told police officers that he was Madeleine's killer. You can use the widget below to see more local crime stories in your area:
The Met Police were forced to spend valuable time looking into his claims, and his website shows correspondence related to his dealings with the police in 2012. CambridgeshireLive spoke to Collis on the phone in 2017 about the claim, and he was unrepentant about wasting police time. He said: “I was doing it to mess them around because I enjoyed it. I still do find it funny.”
