Breaking News ! Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has revealed the club have had a bid to have a second test event turned down by the Scottish Government. The Dons chief hoped to have 1000 fans in Pittodrie for Sunday's game against Celtic but despite backing from the Aberdeen City Council, the government refused permission for it to go ahead. Aberdeen were one of the clubs who held a test event last month when 300 supporters attended their game against Kilmarnock at Pittodrie. (Image: SNS Group) That was hailed as a success but stricter Covid restriction measures have been put in place since and Cormack revealed the government weren't willing to budge on no fans being in the ground.
. Cormack tweeted: "Supported by Aberdeen City Council we applied for a second test event versus Celtic to include 1,000 fans, just 5% capacity, out in the open fresh air. Got a polite "no" from @scotgov @jasonleitch stating our first test was a success & latest plan was robust & in excellent shape." The Dons take on Celtic on Sunday at midday.
