Martin also advised viewers on bank accounts, telling them: "Normally I would say try and fix your savings, to lock in on a better rate, but the best one year fixed is just 1% with Metro Bank.
. Writing to his followers, he said: "APOLOGY. I made an error on the #martinlewis show just now. "The top 1 year fixed savings is Marcus account, which is what I thought I'd said, but I've been told I said Metro bank. It was a mental hiccough, my apologies." He's only human, after all!
