UK Man City will show true mark of champions by correcting Leeds errors last minute news
MetiNews.Com - Manchester City drew with Leeds in an entertaining, but frustrating, draw at Elland Road in December.
Breaking News ! Leeds will make history this weekend if they repeat an impressive feat from their home draw with Manchester City back in October. Then, with 52 per cent of possession, Marcelo Bielsa's side took the game to City and got their reward for a confident approach, Rodrigo capitalising on an Ederson error to earn a point in the Yorkshire rain. It was City's third game of the season, and only their fourth point. Bielsa did what Brendan Rodgers had done the previous league game and attacked City with a positive reward. As good as Leicester and Leeds were, these were results that were symptomatic of City's relatively slow start to the campaign. Such has been the turnaround at the Etihad since those early games, however, there appears to be few neutrals giving Leeds much of a chance on Saturday in the return fixture. If Bielsa's men can keep the ball more than City, they will become the first team to ever beat a Pep Guardiola side for possession in both meetings of a top-flight season, in any country. This is a completely different City side, who will learn from their mistakes at Elland Road. The Blues created plenty of chances, but were guilty of being wasteful, while Leeds were direct and carved chances out that have since tended to be eradicated from City's defence - in part due to Ruben Dias' influence who was a debutant that day. Leeds mixed up their attack by running at the defence but also switching it wide and threatening with crosses. Surely Guardiola will attempt to limit their options when the Leeds midfielders are on the ball, and maybe the versatility of Joao Cancelo from full-back to defensive midfield can help in that regard.

After the Leicester hammering and the Leeds draw, City would drop further points against West Ham, Spurs, Liverpool, Man United and West Brom. However, in their next meeting with each side who took points off them before Christmas, City have had a point to prove and won each of their next six league and cup games against those sides by an aggregate score of 18-2 compared to the first meetings tally of six goals for and 11 against. If City beat Leeds, they will have only failed to beat United in the league this season of their fellow 19 top flight sides - although they were comfortable 2-0 winners at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.

It's a sign of champions to beat every team infront of them, and particularly to avenge previous dropped points. City have taken every game at a time since their reassessment team meetings in December after drawing with West Brom. As Pep Guardiola enjoys pointing out, 27 wins from 28 in all competitions since is not a bad record. A win against Leeds will take City even closer to another Premier League title, and there will be no arguments at the end of the season that it wasn't deserved. If they can back it up with a final revenge mission from that Elland Road draw, then the history books will prove no side could stop this side from winning on their way to a dominant title.
