Breaking News ! Ben Jackson feels he has matured during his loan spell at Bolton Wanderers and is targeting hitting the ground running upon his return to Huddersfield Town. The 20-year-old joined the Whites on loan from the Terriers during the January transfer window. He went on to make five appearances for Wanderers and scored a memorable winning goal on the road against Morecambe on the route to helping Ian Evatt's side claim automatic promotion back to League One. The left-back has hailed his spell at the University of Bolton Stadium and wants to emulate his first team experiences at Wanderers with the Championship side. He told Huddersfield's website: "I loved being at Bolton! Being part of a promotion-winning side was a great achievement. I wasn’t really where I wanted to be in regard to playing with the First Team at Huddersfield. “Loan moves are always huge for players. “Playing men’s football is always going to be different to Academy football because you’re playing for points every week and so they really help you to find that competitive edge. “They help you mature and grow up a little bit and for me, with Bolton fighting for promotion and trying to achieve a target, that was huge for the Club and for my development. “Getting promoted was such a nice feeling, for me it was a first as I have never experienced promotion before. “It definitely motivates me to want to experience these types of achievements with Huddersfield Town.

. “However, first and foremost, my main priority now is to get as fit as I can during the off-season and hit the ground running when I get back to Huddersfield.” Read More Related Articles Ricardo Santos pinpoints 'extra push' Bolton Wanderers fans will give team in League One Read More Related Articles George Thomason on why Bolton Wanderers have no fears heading into League One next season Jackson made only five appearances for Bolton in light of fellow loanee Declan John becoming the club's first choice left-back. The Swansea City man played 21 times for Wanderers in the second half of the season and scored twice. And Jackson learned a great deal by watching John in training and in games, adding he stayed behind after training to put in the extra work. He believes this is what helped grant him his opportunity when John was unfit for the game against the Shrimps towards the end of the season. He said: “This move gave me the opportunity to develop my game by watching Declan in games and in training, seeing what he does well and how I can implement the things he does into my game. “Watching him and learning from him was beneficial to the development of my playing style. “When I wasn’t being selected to start games, I was working my socks off in training by going that extra mile such as staying behind after training and working on my game. “I believe that was part of the reason why I started against Morecambe when Declan was unfit. “At times it was a bit frustrating being stuck behind him for a bit, but I had my chance when he missed a game and I was able to come in and play a good game and have a big impact. “Overall, it was a massive experience for me, and it was really enjoyable.” Read More Related Articles Bolton Wanderers defender Gethin Jones on contract and 'unbelievable' next season in League One Read More Related Articles Lukas Jensen's Bolton Wanderers spell reviewed as Burnley goalkeeper moves to Icelandic side
