MetiNews.Com - Manchester City are back in Premier League action on Wednesday as Brighton visit the Etihad.
Breaking News ! Manchester City will still be without Sergio Aguero for the Premier League visit of Brighton tonight. City are looking to keep up the pressure on Manchester United and Liverpool this week, with Brighton a great opportunity to build on three impressive wins. However, with only the Chelsea win coming in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola will be looking for his side to continue their good cup form back in the league. Guardiola's injury and isolation crisis looks to be clearing up, although Aguero is unavailable as he isolates after coming into contact with someone who contracted Covid-19. Ferran Torres and Ederson could return to the starting line-up after their periods of isolation ended last week. Joe Bray I'd rest Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus after they both came through their first games after isolation, with Joao Cancelo and Raheem Sterling natural replacements. John Stones and Ruben Dias both got a half's rest at the weekend so should be refreshed, while Aleks Zinchenko is the fitter option than Benjamin Mendy on the left.
A strong midfield of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Rodri is a no-brainer to continue City's good form, and the trio have been central to that upturn since the new year. Up front, Ferran Torres is a good option to play centrally - he's not a natural striker, but his style of play is closer to Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero as City will try and move from their recent false nine success to the return of their two recognised strikers.
