Breaking News ! Two people are in hospital after a 'violent disturbance' in Bolton last night reportedly involving machete-type weapons. There were chaotic scenes in Breightmet at around 10pm last night as a large number of police responded to the area around Blair Lane, including armed officers and the force helicopter. Residents reported a confrontation in the street involving men armed with machete-types weapons that left at least one man with stab injuries. One witness described seeing a man 'bleeding out in his garden'. There were also reports of a man brandishing what appeared to be a gun. Greater Manchester Police confirmed two men were taken to hospital for treatment, but did not confirm the nature of their injuries. Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: "Shortly before 10pm on Saturday 17 October 2020, police were called to numerous reports of a violent disturbance on Blair Lane, Bolton. "Specialist officers attended and searched a number of properties on Aldercroft Avenue, Blair Lane and New Lane.

"Four men, aged 17, 18, 29 and 30, and a 25-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
