His comments come following the introduction of the 'rule of six' in England on Monday - and as the north east is set to be subject to local lockdown-style restrictions due to a rapid rise in Covid-19 caes. There are also reports of a 10pm curfew to be imposed on hospitality venues, which Downing Street refused to deny on Wednesday.
