Breaking News ! A man has been arrested after a hit and run in Trafford which saw a child taken to hospital. Emergency services were called to Elizabeth Road in Partington at around 6pm on Sunday (25 October) to reports of a road traffic accident. A nine-year-old child was treated for minor injuries and subsequently taken to hospital as a precaution, police said. The driver of the vehicle made off from the scene of the crash but was later detained by officers. Police were called to Elizabeth Road in Partington on Sunday night (Image: ASP) He has been arrested and summoned to court for failing to stop at the scene of a collision and failing to report an accident. A spokesperson for GMP said: "Just after 6pm yesterday (25 October 2020), officers were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a child on Elizabeth Road in Partington. "Emergency services attended and a nine-year-old child received minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
." Officers on the GMP Urmston Twitter account tweeted: "We are aware of a road traffic collision that occurred in the Partington area this evening. "The driver was arrested shortly after the incident occurred and the investigation is ongoing."
The driver of the car was later arrested
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Elizabeth Road at 6.04pm to reports of a road traffic collision. "We sent one ambulance and took one patient to hospital. "It was a young child and their injuries were not believed to be serious."
