Breaking News ! Chris Wilder has had many selection headaches this season but not of the 'nice' variety that football managers say they love. Most of his selection problems have centred around changes to the Sheffield United starting XI forced through injury or a loss of form. However, he has just been given one thanks to the performances in recent matches of Jayden Bogle. The right wing-back, signed for a bargain fee from Derby in the summer, looks an absolute steal based on his recent performances. He has come in for the injured George Baldock and has started the last three matches. His goal at Brighton, when he came on for his Premier League debut, almost secured a brilliant away win and he was excellent in the FA Cup at Bristol Rovers. Having just been pegged back at 2-2, Bogle showed superb feet and composure in a tight area to slot home the winner and book United's place in the fourth round. And he continued that form on Tuesday night against Newcastle. He had three shots, two of which were well saved by keeper Karl Darlow, and had an 83% pass success rate. Ironically, there's a case for the argument that one of the few areas that Wilder needed a selection headache was at right wing-back, with Baldock having done little wrong this season. He had been ever present for 58 matches on the bounce before missing out at Crystal Palace. However, one of the criticisms levelled at Baldock has been his end product in the final third. Bogle looks a lot more assured in those areas, and with Baldock due back from injury for Sunday's visit of Spurs, Wilder has a decision to make. "Jayden has impressed everybody in training and has really pushed George on," Wilder told Yorkshire Live. "George's performances have been decent from his point of view and Jayden has been pushing him all the way. "I thought it was the time to put Jayden in at Palace and he played at the weekend as well and showed his quality. "It's always good to have good players playing well and Jayden is a good player. "The deal that we did for him and Max was a good deal at the time. "Jayden had played in Derby's team in the Championship that got through to the play-off final. "We watched him and played against him. He was a young boy who burst on to the scene and then had that second season where he had a little bit of a dip, but there's a player in there. "I think it's a little bit unfair to get after those young players even though there's no hiding place in the Premier League. "But there was a lot of clubs in for these players we signed. "From our point of view we were delighted to have secured his signature and we would have loved to have gone better than what we have done and made it easier for these younger players to find their top from, instead of trying to find it in a team that's having a struggle for form and confidence."
