Breaking News ! The parts of England on the government's "watch list" due to a rising rate of new coronavirus cases have been revealed. A total of 26 towns and cities are being monitored and could be subjected to a lockdown unless infection rates improve. The list comes two days after Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced new lockdown measures in parts of Greater Manchester, East Lancashire and West Yorkshire following a spike in Covid-19 cases, reports the Mirror. Up to four million people are not allowed to meet friends and family from other households in private homes, gardens or public spaces. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also scrapped plans to restart wedding receptions and announced that new face covering rules are coming in as part of the Government's latest lockdown changes in England. A screenshot of the list shared by the Mirror He said masks would be compulsory in more indoor venues, including cinemas and churches. He stalled the reopening of ice rinks, casinos and bowling alleys for another fortnight, along with wedding receptions of more than 30 people. The first local lockdown was introduced in Leicester where pubs, restaurants, hairdressers and other non-essential businesses remained closed on July 4 unlike the rest of England. Some areas have been released from the measures but restrictions on people from different households meeting up are in place.
