According to reports from the Sheffield Star, both clubs are interested in signing Simmonds who is reportedly keen on departing the Etihad Stadium to get his first regular taste of senior football, with Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion also set to be keen on signing the 19-year-old. Wednesday have already added to their squad from Pep Guardiola’s side’s academy this summer, signing midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru on a permanent deal last month. Simmonds, a forward who can play both up front and out wide, is yet to feature for City’s first-team, but has made two appearances for their under-23s in the Leasing.
