Breaking News ! It is another snow day for much of South Yorkshire, as the region has been blanketed by overnight snowfall. Travel has been disrupted, with cars and buses struggling to make it up and down residential roads. But some schools have also been affected, as staff and students are advised not to brave the treacherous conditions. Schools in Barnsley and Sheffield have been badly affected, with 25 schools already closed for today.
. And others have said that it would be too dangerous for staff and students to head home later in the day, as snowfall is expected to continue into the afternoon and evening. The Met Office has predicted that snow is likely to continue until around 8pm this evening for some areas, with fog rolling in later tonight. Here are the schools in Barnsley and Sheffield that have put out a closure notice.
