Breaking News ! The coronavirus infection rates in Leeds and Bradford are continuing to climb, according the latest figures. Data, published by Public Health England today, showed both cities' case rates per 100,000 people jumped significantly in the week up to September 12. The seven day rolling average for Bradford rose from 77.6 the week before to 94.5, with 510 new cases identified in that period. Meanwhile, in Leeds, 569 people received a positive coronavirus test, pushing the city's case rate from 59.8 to 71.7 over the seven days. Despite the surge, neither Leeds nor Bradford found themselves in the top ten most infected areas of England after Bradford - which had been second on that list - was leapfrogged by nine locations in the North West. Only three locations in Yorkshire - Ryedale, Harrogate and Barnsley - saw their coronavirus infection rates go down in the week up to September 12.
