Breaking News ! A nine-year-old girl described as a “natural born performer” who was first spotted by a talent scout while shopping in Asda is about to star in her first feature film. Izobella Dawson was just 18 months old when her shocked mum Rachel, 38, was approached by the scout as she did her weekly supermarket shop. Since then the talented youngster has appeared in television adverts, advertising campaigns, TV shows and on stage as one of the Sound of Music von Trapp children. But she has now landed her biggest break yet after successfully auditioning for a big part in a new film called Moment of Grace, a gritty drama about human trafficking. The youngster, who has a speaking role, has spent the past two weeks filming on set and says the experience has been “amazing”, adding that she has “learned loads”. Izobella, from Barnsley, South Yorks., said: “I’ve enjoyed doing it, it’s been really fun. Izobella Dawson “On the first day, I was really nervous because I didn’t know what to expect but once I got there everything just felt normal. “All of the actors and actresses and directors and producers have been so nice. “We are like a little family. It’s super sad to be leaving them but I’m so excited for the film to come out. I wish it was being released tomorrow.” Izobella finished filming this week, ahead of the film’s release next year. Fantastic photos show her enjoying her time on set over the past couple of weeks. Karen Hassan, who has appeared in the hit TV crime drama The Fall, plays the real mum, while Elva Trill, who has been in Line of Duty, plays the aunt.

.” Moment of Grace, written by Bernard O'Toole and directed by Keith Farrell, was shot in Cleethorpes, Lincs., and Halifax, West Yorks. Mum-of-one Rachel, a council worker, said: “I can’t tell you how proud I am of Izobella, she amazes me every day. “She’s a natural born performer, I have no idea where she gets it from because it’s definitely not me. Izobella Dawson “Izobella just goes out there full of confidence and does her stuff, it’s wonderful to see as a parent and makes me very proud.” “She’s so talented but she doesn’t act like a brat or show off and I think that makes me as proud as anything. She’s so kindhearted with a huge heart.” Rachel said it was likely thousands of children applied for the part of Ruby, which Izobella got after auditioning over Zoom. However, she added that due to the adult themes her little one might not even be allowed to watch it, although she has agreed to at least show her own scenes. Rachel said she was doing a supermarket shop at an Asda in Sheffield around seven years ago when she was approached by a talent scout, who said Izobella should do modelling. She added: “I was quite shocked to begin with because I was just out shopping, it’s not what you expect to happen. “We were worried it was some kind of scam or something a bit dodgy but Izobella ended up doing her first modelling job not long after and it’s gone from there.” As coronavirus restrictions ease, Izobella hopes to see more and more job offers coming in. She added: “I love acting, it’s definitely what I want to do when I’m older.”
