MetiNews.Com - Traffic officer angry at finding piles of junk - including a toilet - dumped at Pennine spot
Breaking News ! A motorway policeman has slammed fly-tippers for ruining a beauty spot off the M62. PC Martin Willis, who patrols the West Yorkshire stretch of the motorway, was angry to see piles of rubbish dumped at the spot near the summit of the M62, at Rishworth Moor. The location, near junction 22, offers panoramic views of the Pennines but for years it has been used as an illegal rubbish tip. PC Willis' photo shows junk, including a smashed toilet bowl, strewn across the site.
." PC Willis, who tweets under the name Motorway Martin, added: "I wish people would take a moment to consider the harm their actions will have on the environment and the cost of cleaning up other people's rubbish (and) also the effect on what is and should be a beautiful place for people to enjoy."
Fly-tipping carries a fine of up to £50,000 or 12 months imprisonment if convicted in a Magistrates Court. A conviction in a Crown Court for fly-tipping can result in an unlimited fine and up to five years in prison.
