MetiNews.Com - The goalkeeper was not able to make the trip to Stoke for the 4-3 Championship defeat on Saturday afternoon and Corberan could be without his number 1 for further games
Breaking News ! Huddersfield Town head coach Carlos Corberan admits he is unsure how many more games Ben Hamer is going to have to sit out after his absence at Stoke City. The goalkeeper missed his first game of the season after a member of his household was advised to self-isolate. Manchester United loanee Joel Pereira therefore made his club debut in the 4-3 defeat in Hamer’s place but it was a game to forget for the 24 year old, who was beaten at his near post for Stoke's second goal and gave the ball away inside his own penalty box to allow them to score their third. . “Ben Hamer couldn’t play because you need to be very cautious. “He’s fine, he’s OK, but [someone in his household] had contact with someone who was positive and we need to have all the precautions that we have to have. It was the reason why he was not with us.” NHS guidelines are that you must self-isolate for 14 days after coming into contact with someone with coronavirus symptoms. Hamer was filmed training with the team in the first week of the international break but we understand he has been away from Canalside since at least Monday. That would seem to suggest that Hamer is likely to miss the trip to Wycombe on Tuesday night at the very least with next Saturday’s game against Middlesbrough also a potential doubt.

When asked to confirm for sure how many more games Hamer is going to miss, Corberan said: “I hope the minimum number of games that he can miss but we need to respect the rules from a medical point of view. “I don’t know exactly right now how many days he needs to be out of contact with our players and I don’t know when is going to be the next test that he’s going to have. “I cannot give the answer right now to you.”
