Sheffield news Chris Wilder says Richairo Zivkovic could still return next season MetiNews.Com

Breaking News ! Chris Wilder says Richairo Zivkovic could return to Bramall Lane next season after admitting he is hoping his parent club could be open to negotiating fresh terms on his original deal. The Dutch forward arrived in January from Chinese outfit Changchun Yatai on loan until the end of the season with a deal agreed to make it a permanent switch in the summer should he impress the Blades boss. Having not played a game since November 19 when Changchun's season came to an end, Zivkovic - a player who had long been admired by United's head of recruitment Paul Mitchell - arrived short on match fitness. United were also putting together a good run of form before football in this country came to a halt, something that did Zivkovic's chances of impressing Wilder no favours as United then went three months without a game. The Blades boss, who also signed Panos Retsos on a similar deal but has since seen the Greek defender return to German club Bayer Leverkusen, said he did not need to see the striker in action to make a decision on his plans for next season. But the new Premier League ruling allowing nine subs to be named instead of seven and five to be used has seen the striker given the chance to impress in recent weeks. He came off the bench for his first minutes in a United shirt at Newcastle and at Manchester United in the last two Premier League outings and could well enjoy more game time between now and the end of the season.
. "It's moving all the time, it was a loan with a view and still is, so there is conversations to have in terms of structure," he told Yorkshire Live. "We have got a basic idea of where we want to improve and what we need to do, in terms of reflection so far in our season, players that are potentially going to go out, players that we are going to release, other boys that we have offered new contracts to. "Richairo is here for the next month and we will see where it goes from there."

The striker moved to the Chinese League One club in February last year for £2million from Belgium side KV Oostende and has been a huge hit, scoring 15 league goals from 25 starts, giving the side a chance of promotion. Because of the coronavirus, the Chinese league, due to restart in February, has not returned to action. It is no secret that clubs are looking to offload players to help with finances due to the lack of income and if United can negotiate fresh terms that suit Wilder's new, reduced budget for next season Zivkovic could still return for the 2020-21 campaign.
