Breaking News ! How frustrated are you after Chelsea's 3-3 draw with Southampton? "Yes, I am frustrated and the players are. They would be because the first half was as good as we have played this season. Very much so, we played some great football. Get some good goals and we could have had some more. "When you concede before half-time, you know that can change the tone of the game a lot. Then, we go 3-2 up and concede a late goal from a free kick. "It is disappointing, you want to pick up points at home against teams like Southampton, irrespective of them being a good team who can make things very difficult for you. In the second half, we could have dealt with it better." Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will start in8Cancel Play now What did you make of Timo Werner's goals? "Yes, they are really good individual goals in terms of how he made them for himself. He looked sharp, our combination play in the first half was very sharp. For Timo to get those goals was great for him in terms of getting his confidence on his first Premier League goals. I am sure we will see a lot more from him." How disappointed with the way you conceded the second goal? "Yes, they are mistakes that concern you. It was a situation that we should have clearly dealt with in a much better and simpler terms. They you make a goal and it is 2-2. If you are going to concede those kinda goals, then it doesn’t matter how well you play in periods of games, it is something that we can’t have in our game." "Yes, there is certainly a game management element of it in a game. We want to have a lead and see it off. We turnover the ball that led to the free kick and then it is the second balls. There’s a lot of elements that led to it, you can recreate that in training and talk about it a lot but it is very disappointing when it happens." Kepa did well at times but another big mistake. Is he strong enough to deal with this? "We know that all eyes are on him, how competitive it is [in the squad]. As a goalkeeper, you know all eyes are on you. Kepa has to deal with that and also feel the support of me and the team-mates. It is unfortunate because he did make a couple of good saves today. When you are a goalkeeper, people will judge you on other moments as well. He has to keep working and there’s only one way of getting through those periods and it is to work and to feel support around him." "I don’t think it is conceding goals due to the shape of the team.

. That is something I have to think about, but it doesn’t mean I am dead set on sticking with that formation and there can be changes and tweaks to it as we go along. It’s something we need to continue working on. It is a change. "Change needs work on the training ground, we haven’t had much of that so sometimes the work in progress is in games and today there were loads of great things from the 4-2-3-1, particularly in the first half. In the second half I wouldn’t blame the shape of the team, more that we didn’t deal with the fact that Southampton were really keen to put us under pressure in their own half. We wanted to miss out their press, we didn’t do enough and that meant we turned the ball over in our own half, which irrespective of shape is always a problem." But of course peoples’ eyes will be drawn to the second goal and I understand that because it wasn’t just Kepa who was involved in that goal. That is the unfortunate world of a goalkeeper. Mendy is at the minute injured and probably will be fit in the next week or two weeks and then that will be the decision for me to make about who plays.” Second half, can you explain why you struggled so much in that half? “I agree that they were the better side and on the flip side we were much the better side in the first half where we probably could have put the game beyond Southampton with more goals and of course we conceded late on, which can happen. I did explain before I am not talking about personnel because the second half was pretty clear cut for me. "They wanted to put us under pressure in our own half. I felt like we tried to make too many short passes in our own half, which gave them the possibility to win it back there. The message was for the players to miss that out, I don’t think we did enough and that made it much more difficult for us to have the control that we did in the first half. What you want when you are 3-2 ahead is to make sure you see out the game, that is obviously the disappointing factor from our point of view."
