"We've been trying with the players that we have fit at the moment, it's not ideal to start the season with key players out. But again, we have enough players, really good players and tomorrow we will put the best possible plan to win our first game. "They've [Willian and Saliba] been training really well. They've been adapting quickly, they are really excited to be here with us. Really good energy from both. Big talents, both in very different phases of their careers. "Someone [Willian] that is already very established in the Premier League with an incredible quality and another one [Gabriel] that has to adapt to this league but has huge potential to become a key player for us in the future." Replacing the injured Bernd Leno last season, the 28-year-old proved to Arteta and clubs across England that he is good enough to be a regular No.1. in the Premier League.
. As revealed by football.london on Friday [September 11], Martinez is not part of the matchday squad as interest from Aston Villa and Brighton grows. "There are other cases in other football clubs with similar things," Arteta said on the selection dilemma ahead of the game. "The positive thing is that we have a ‘keeper with Emi who has been so patient, that he made some difficult choices in his career to earn the right to [be] where he is at the moment. [When] he was given the opportunity since I joined he was superb. His performance increased dramatically, he was key in our success to winning the titles and his value as well.

"For me it’s a really good problem to have to deal with that in a position where only one can play long term is a little more difficult but this is why we are having this conversation. "They both need to know their role. At the end of the day it’s one position to fill in and the other one has to support the one that’s playing 100%. If you are not able to do that, you cannot be part of a top squad and you should not be here." Arsenal confirmed XI: Leno; Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Bellerin, Elneny, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles; Willian, Lacazette, Aubameyang
