Breaking News ! Emi Martinez: Did all he could to prevent Christian Pulisic's goal but wasn't able to. Responded well as when Chelsea pressed him and his defenders, he stuck to the task of playing out from the back and did so with confidence. Made great decisions late in the game to see out the win. 9 Rob Holding: Didn't deal with Chelsea's press well early on and struggled to engage with Pulisic when he ran directly at the backline. Looked awkward at times when he found himself on the ball but when he needed to defend in one action, he was fine. Was exposed by Pulisic again at the start of the second half but kept up with Pedro well when he came on. Excelled when dealing with aerial balls. 7 David Luiz: Should have been quicker to anticipate Olivier Giroud's flick to Pulisic for the goal. After that, he dealt with Giroud well when Chelsea looked to attack through him. Made good decisions in the second half before coming off. An assured performance. 8 Kieran Tierney: Played a nice ball over to Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the opening minutes of the game but could have defended better in the build-up to Pulisic's goal with his positioning. That passing from centre-back came into play once again and was crucial in freeing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to win the penalty. This almost a worked a third time but minutes later a pinpoint cross to Pepe nearly led to another Arsenal chance. His more central position also helped when Arsenal were in more sustained possession. Was more reserved in the second half but this worked well as he raised to each challenge that came his way. 9 Video Loading Video Unavailable Click to play Tap to play The video will start in8Cancel Play now Hector Bellerin: Supported Pepe well as he wasn't scared to get forward. In the first half, this was mostly to give Pepe an extra option but he took this to another level for the second goal. Bursting forward, he got a great nutmeg on Antonio Rudiger to keep the move on and get Arsenal into the final third for the goal. 8 Dani Ceballos: Did well to bring Arsenal back into the game with his ball retention in midfield and the speed at which he moved the ball. His clipped passes in behind at the start of the second half allowed the Gunners to get more control in midfield. The 23-year-old's role was more understated than those around him but was just as important in shutting out Chelsea when needed. 9 Read More Related Articles Robin van Persie surprised by Mikel Arteta's Bukayo Saka decision for Arsenal Read More Related Articles Tierney comparison gives Arteta perfect tactical layout for FA Cup final Granit Xhaka: Slow start as him being caught on the ball led to an early Chelsea opening, but when Arsenal grew more comfortable, he did too. His awareness when receiving the ball improved and he reacted well to shut attacks down. Swept up in front of the defence well when the side took the lead.

. Like Ceballos, his performance was understated but incredibly important. 9 Ainsley Maitland-Niles: Had an interesting start as he was able to get in behind Chelsea down the left but this hindered him in the final third. Constantly, he was forced infield, however, he kept his nerve well when this happened to keep the ball in Arsenal possession. When forced to cross with his left foot, he well but nobody took the risk to follow it in. What was also impressive was the way he worked in relation to Aubameyang which played into Pepe's disallowed goal [of course, he was offside]. An outstanding performance. 9 Nicolas Pepe: Responded quickly to not having as much of the ball as he'd like, helping take pressure off the midfield when doing so. Was unlucky to have his goal chalked off as it was an amazing strike into the top corner. Really stepped up after this as he displayed some outrageous footwork to create chances and win set pieces for Arsenal. His crossing late in the first half was also key to creating more belief. Did well to find Lacazette to create a chance for Aubameyang but when he got in the same position, he showed his class to lay the ball onto the captain for his second goal. Contributed with some great tackles late in added time to secure the win. An outstanding display from Arsenal's record signing. 10 Alexandre Lacazette: Played an important role in the first half to allow Arsenal to gain control. Retained the ball extremely well in the middle third and put great pressure on Antonio Rudiger. Did his best to get the ball to Aubameyang when Arsenal broke just before the hour-mark but was unlucky with the delivery. A tireless performance. 8 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Was looking to get in between Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta constantly before he eventually won the penalty to bring Arsenal level - which was taken extremely well. Worked very well with Maitland-Niles in regard to the spaces they picked up in relation to each other. Was unlucky that Lacazette's pass was behind him just before the hour-mark otherwise he would have had a great scoring opportunity. When he did get a smidge more space, he took the goal exceptionally, dancing onto his left foot and dinking it over Willy Caballero. 10 Substitutes Eddie Nketiah: Did well when he came on. 6 Sokratis: Sealed the win nicely and dealt with the late pressure well. 6 Sead Kolasinac: Not on long enough to rate.
