Breaking News ! Seating areas outside one of Ouseburn's most popular pubs have been roped off after huge crowds gathered at the site. As lockdown eased the area around the Tyne Bar has been blighted by rubbish as people flocked to benches outside the pub to enjoy a socially distanced drink. However, as the bar confirmed it would not be reopening on July 4 tables outside the venue have been roped off. While the venue declined to comment any further on the reopening date, it is assumed the pub has acted to stop people mingling outside come Saturday. A number of bars across the city have ruled themselves out of welcoming punters through their doors on Saturday. On Facebook, The Tyne Bar posted it would reopen on July 6, stating it feared Saturday "could be a day of total chaos". And, as for opening on July 4, The Tyne Bar simply posted on Facebook: "We don't want any part of it.

However, scenes such as those on the Quayside over the weekend - in which drunks jumped into the River Tyne - have worried some landlords, especially given that thousands of Brits are still catching the virus every week.
