Breaking News ! The high street may have returned following the peak of the coronavirus lockdown but it is far from complete. But as the nation emerges from the shadow of lockdown some region's are facing the risk of localised shutdowns. As the nation eagerly awaits the return of pubs and hairdressers on July 4 there are scores of businesses which will not be reopening, some by choice but other's have proved casualties of coronavirus. That means several shops have decided they're better off keeping staff on furlough for now - at least until they work out how to operate safely. For others, three months of bills have pushed an already shaky bank balance over the edge, while still more retailers have taken a long hard look at the state of the high street and decided they're better off out of it. And there are sure to be more to follow. None were found in time meaning all branches will now stay shut for good at a loss of 1,803 jobs Virgin Media - All 53 stores shut for good - the broadband, TV and mobile service provider has decided against having a high street presence at all after lockdown, although no jobs will be lost as a result of the closures TM Lewin - TM Lewin is closing all 66 of its UK stores with 600 jobs at risk. The iconic menswear brand, famous for its office clothes, said its financial woes had been accelerated by the coronavirus pandemic Harveys and Bensons for Beds - The owner of furniture chain Harveys has called in administrators with the immediate loss of 240 jobs. Around 20 Harveys stores could be closed if the administration process goes badly. Bensons for Beds, which is part by Harveys' owners Blue Group, will also see around 50 of its outlets close, leaving between 150 and 175 open.
