Breaking News ! A stolen Range Rover has been recovered after police followed a tracker placed by the owner. The owner of the Range Rover woke up on Tuesday morning to find that his car had been stolen from outside his home on Jesmond Dene Road in Newcastle. He reported the crime to police and on Wednesday officers were notified that a tracking device attached to the car had been activated and the vehicle was in North Tyneside. Officers arrived at the area in an unmarked car and within minutes the Range Rover was located in the New York area. It had been left unoccupied and undamaged but the vehicle has now been seized to carry out forensic tests. Inquiries to identify those responsible for the theft are ongoing but the car will be returned to its owner in due course.

“Ultimately a victim of crime will have their vehicle returned and I hope our swift response does provide some reassurance to our communities.” Anyone with information about the theft, that is believed to have taken place overnight on Monday to Tuesday, is asked to report it online at the Northumbria Police website.
