MetiNews.Com - It's been six months since the latest bid to buy Newcastle United was launched and, despite its collapse, Magpies supporters are still keen to see it happen
Breaking News ! Six months on from the original explosion of publicity, Newcastle United fans STILL want the Amanda Staveley-fronted takeover to go through by a huge margin. But faith in the deal actually happening has shrunk in our mini Big Toon Survey, conducted in the days after the transfer window closed. Plenty of water has passed under the bridge since our end-of-season survey that made headlines as it called on the Premier League to answer what really happened with the takeover. That survey showed 92% wanted the deal to go through and our latest snapshot of fans shows similar numbers still want Staveley, the Reuben Brothers and the PIF to takeover the club. 90% of more than 2,000 respondents indicated they want the deal, with 8% against and 2% now undecided. Our exclusive NUFC fan survey shows that supporters are backing the Amanda Staveley takeover still But 60% - a clear majority - now think the deal WON'T happen, which shows they have work to do to convince the sceptics the takeover is salvageable.

Mike Ashley has at least convinced United fans he NOW wants to sell. 82% feel he wants to sell up, as opposed to 15% who think his actions prove he's trying to cling on. And the Premier League's various attempts to explain what happened have convinced few. 93% think their explanation - which put the burden on the consortium by revealing they had refused arbitration and there had been no assurances offered at any point about the deal - was not good enough. 6% think they did enough.
