Breaking News ! Meat:Stack has revealed when it will open its own restaurant in Newcastle. Since launching as an American-inspired cheeseburger stall on Newcastle's Quayside just over four years ago, Meat:Stack's success has seen the business grow with a 'pop-up' restaurant which launched at the No 28 bar before moving to The Dog and Parrot pub, as well as a takeaway at the city's Grainger Market. On Friday July 10, Meat:Stack will open its own restaurant in a historic Groat Market property which has benefitted from a £150,000 restoration in the heart of the Bigg Market area's redevelopment. Meat:Stack's honourary Geordie founders, Allan Hyslop, Tom Westman and Charles Mair, who moved to Newcastle 16 years ago, planned to open in April, but coronavirus pushed construction back. Now, the trio's wait to finally open their own restaurant is nearly over. Allan said: “We’re really grateful for our loyal following in the region and we are proud to continue to provide one of the best burger offerings in the UK. "While it’s been an honour for Meat:Stack to sit within some of our favourite venues in our adopted hometown, we thought it was time for us to firmly establish ourselves with our own restaurant. "Here at Meat:Stack we are about top quality food, served fast with exceptional service and reasonable prices. Since we all moved here and met in 2004 it has been a dream of ours to have such a business in this great city. “Like many businesses, we faced a number of complications due to the coronavirus crisis and we wanted to say a big thank you to our customers for supporting us throughout this time.

. “We have added some delicious new dishes to our popular menu while making sure we stick to our roots and continue to offer our staple burgers that are smashed, steamed and served fast.” Customers can expect the same smashed and steamed cheeseburgers which earned Meat:Stack a reputation for being among Newcastle's best, as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner options on a revamped and extended menu. The restaurant will open from 9am to 10pm, seven days a week. Meat:Stack's new landlord, Michael Rye of George Rye & Sons Ltd added: “We’re delighted to have Meat:Stack as our new tenants and to be able to hand the building across to another local business. "The building of 41-43 Groat Market has been in my family for over one hundred years, initially the home of our shoe business, and when the opportunity arose to work with the boys it was the perfect solution for the future.
