Breaking News ! A man has been taken to hospital after falling from a bridge in Jesmond. Police received a report of a man who had fallen from Armstrong Bridge on Thursday at around 11.50am. Northumbria police, North East Ambulance Service and Great North Air Ambulance were called to the scene. On arrival, paramedics assessed and treated the man's injuries at the scene. Police confirmed that the man was then taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) by air ambulance where he will receive further treatment. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11.50am today (Thursday) police received a report that a man had fallen from Armstrong Bridge in Jesmond. “Emergency services attended and the man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken by air ambulance to the RVI.” How to access support if you need it If this piece has affected you and you want to talk to someone, there are helplines and support groups available, many of them 24/7.
