And it seems that Marks and Spencer is among the high street stores adopting a different approach to the usual high-pressure shopping as it launches its first list of 'must-have' Christmas gifts alongside a laid-back attitude. It says: "This year will be all about JONSO – the Joy of Not Stressing Out." And one of its gift ideas could certainly help take the edge off: a gin liqueur and, in a festive touch, it comes in a light-up bottle. The M&S musical biscuit tin The idea follows the success last year of its Snow Globe of clementine gin liqueur, which proved popular at the main branch in Newcastle and across the region, and the new illuminated bottle of liqueur, which contains 23-carat edible gold leaf and costs £18, is said to be a UK first. It will come in the popular clementine and a new rhubarb flavour too.

The store soon also will be launching its M&S Christmas Food To Order site. A spokesman said it is focused on helping customers keen to avoid any more stress this year with the likes of easy-to-prepare food, adding: "In the same way we embraced JOMO 'joy of missing out' during lockdown, the festive season will see us embracing JONSO the ‘joy of not stressing out’!" M&S Food managing director Stuart Machin said, “As a nation we’ve all been through a lot this year. "Our customers will want to celebrate Christmas and mark the end of the year with friends and family in the best way they can. "Despite all the challenges of 2020, at M&S Food we have been diligently planning our Christmas ranges over the last year to develop what we truly believe is our best ever collection.”
