Breaking News ! An inspirational girl with cerebral palsy gives something back to a charity that has helped to transform her life. Lucy Scott was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 22 months old but does not let her disability get in her way of living her life to the full. From the age of five, Lucy has received support from Heel & Toe Children's Charity, who work with children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. At a young age, the charity supported Lucy with conductive education and now provide her with vital weekly physio sessions to help with her movement. Wanting to give something back, Lucy, her twin sister Molly, and a dozen of their friends ran a mini Great North Run around their street. And now the group has managed to raise over £1000 to help support other disabled children. We had great fun. "By doing this we will help other children like me to get support from the charity which has helped me so much." From a cake stall, a tuck shop and the street filled with balloons and banners, there were smiles on everyone’s faces as the children put on their ruining shoes for the great cause.

. It will help others have the opportunity like what Lucy has had. "Heel and Toe have helped my sister so much and they mean a lot to me, it's been great to give something back." And the twin’s mum, Lynsey Kennedy is so proud of what her girls and their friends have achieved. At the end of their run, the children celebrated with sweets and medals. The 35-year-old mum said: "It was brilliant the kids loved it, everyone was tooting and cheering whilst they ran past and the weather was on our side it was a fab day. "Heel and Toe are a massive part of our lives and means so much to us as a family. "We know how much the charity has struggled because of COVID and it was a drop in the ocean for us to do something so small which would obviously mean so much to them being able to raise that money."
